Analysis of Red Algae Seaweed (Eucheuma cottonii) Cultivation in Jerowaru District, Lombok Regency

Red algae seaweed (Eucheuma cottonii) is a very important commodity to be developed because it has high selling price and production. The purpose of this study determine the cultivation red in Jerowaru District, East Lombok Regency, analyze feasibility business find out obstacles faced conducting Regency. method used descriptive method. Data collection was carried by survey techniques. Determination research area purposive sampling or deliberately. determination number respondents Slovin method, which 42 respondents. using Proportional Random Sampling results showed that (1) average profit obtained IDR 19,532,149.98 per arable land 23,902,980.75 hectare during one harvest season; (2) District feasible; (3) farmers namely lack capital, labor, pest attacks, diseases, weeds, erratic weather. It recommended for cultivate increase productivity able overcome participating training activities held related agencies.
